Starbucks is always dedicated to environmental issues. Starbucks integrates policies and programs throughout all aspects of operations to minimize the environmental impacts. According to Starbucks official website, Starbucks has 7 major commitments as the following:
1. Understanding of environmental issues and sharing information with our partners.
2. Developing innovative and flexible solutions to bring about change.
3. Striving to buy, sell and use environmentally friendly products.
4. Recognizing that fiscal responsibility is essential to our environmental future.
5. Instilling environmental responsibility as a corporate value.
6. Measuring and monitoring our progress for each project.
7. Encouraging all partners to share in our mission.
Starbucks commitment to contribute positively to the environment is a guiding principle to the company. Starbucks expressed this commitment further when they established Starbucks Environmental Mission Statement in 1992. Since then, Starbucks continually evolved their definition of what environmental responsibility means within the context of Starbucks business.

Starbucks Coffee Japan is committed to a role of environmental leadership in all facets of our business. We will fulfill this mission by addressing these elements and by a commitment to:
1. Responsibility and Awareness of Partners
Encouraging all partners to share in our mission and instilling environmental responsibility as a corporate value.
2. Consideration of Environmental Impact
Setting aims and targets to develop mechanisms for improving our environmental performance by striving to buy and sell environmental friendly products, save energy use, reduce wastes, and prevent pollutant.
3. Adherence to Regulations and Voluntary Standards
